Others, however, may just want to obtain a more competitive rate on their mortgage, and perhaps opt for a Fixed rate to allow them to budget. There are often schemes offering Free surveys and legal work, which helps to keep the costs down and compete with whatever is on offer from the current lender.

As this type of transaction can take several weeks, it is always best to book an appointment 2 - 3 months before the end of a current deal, to start the search for the most appropriate re-mortgage product.

Typically you will be charged a fee of £195, payable on completion, for arranging your mortgage. This may vary, however, depending on the size of the loan i.e. larger loans may attract a lower fee (over £200,000) and smaller loans or more difficult cases may be as much as £295. YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED ON YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT. We will also be paid commission from the lender.

Alternatively if you prefer we can charge you £175 per hour to establish your needs, research the market, and recommend the most suitable mortgage for you and process the application. Therefore, if we spent 5 hours doing this work it would mean a total fee payable of £875. However, it could be more or less than this, depending on individual circumstances. This figure will be payable, whether or not the mortgage goes through to completion. We will refund to you any commission we receive from the lender.

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
